Rose Riebl is a pianist and composer based in Melbourne.

Rose Riebl is a pianist and post-classical composer. Her work as a professional concert pianist has seen her perform throughout Australia, as well as tour through some of Asia’s leading concert halls (including Beijing, Shanghai and Jiaxing recital centres).

Her compositional work extends her intimate relationship with the piano into a realm of more fragile, soulful and transcendent works that guide the listener into vulnerable emotional spaces. She has performed her own compositions in Asia, Europe and Australia. Her debut album ‘Do Not Move Stones’ was released via Icelandic label, INNI, receiving four stars from the Irish times, their first pressing of vinyl sold out within a few weeks. 2022 saw sold out shows in Melbourne, Sydney, Paris, London and Reykavik.

At the end of 2021 she recorded solo piano compositions ‘Reykavík sessions’ in Harpa Concert Hall with Björk’s artistic director Bergur Thorisson, realised via INNI last year. She has been releasing singles on compilations (including Nils Frahm’s ‘Piano Day’ album). Rose composed for the Emmy award winning documentary Harley and Katya, which has had a global Netflix release and her soundtrack was released via INNI in 2023. Rose also completed an opera commission, which will be presented in Sydney in 2024.

She has recently completed her second feature documentary, performs regularly and will be releasing her second LP Dust in 2024.
